IDDI HASSAN ALI
Mr. Hassan-Ali is the director of all operations for ZAVECO. He has worked in the volunteer field since 2009.
In 2017 he created ZAVECO in order to address the environmental destruction ravaging Zanzibar’s mangrove forests.
“The environment is very important for the whole world. I want to protect Zanzibar Island for the future generations in the face of environmental degradation, climate change, and sea level rise. I wish to find solutions for local communities, through education so that communities can look towards themselves to provide solutions without relying on the government. Volunteers can help create these solutions with local communities, building a more sustainaible future.
ASMA AHMADA HAMAD
Mrs. Hamad has bachelor’s degrees in Biology, Geography and Teaching at The State University of Zanzibar (SUZA). She did her master studies in marines sciences at the Institute of Marine Sciences (IMS)-University of Dar-es salaam
FAR-HIYA HUSSEIN MASOUD
Ms. Masoud is currently the secretary of ZAVECO.
She is well versed in volunteering herself, having spent time in Arusha and South Africa working as a teacher for impoverished communities.
I work in volunteerism because I am passionate about the impact it can have on people’s lives. In addition, I wish to expand my mind, to know what problems people face, possibly certain problems that I don’t experience. Or maybe to educate people on how to better themselves or the environment.”
Hamadi Ahmada Hamadi
ZAVECO Camp Leader
Mr. Hamadi is currently the ZAVECO’s camp leader and IT assistant.
He has a diploma in Information Technology and is passionate about the opportunities
provided by IT work.
Mr. Hamadi is especially invested in growing ZAVECO’s programs in order to get more volunteers and accomplish more diverse work in. He is especially invested in increasing a focus on environmental education for the local Zanzibari who may not understand the importance of their actions.

Mussa A. Mussa
ZAVECO Member and IT Officer
Mr. Mussa is currently the ZAVECO’s Information Officer.
He has a Degreen in Business Information Technology and is passionate about the opportunities
provided by IT work.
Mr. Mussa is especially invested in growing ZAVECO’s programs in order to get more volunteers and accomplish more diverse work in. He is especially invested in increasing a focus on environmental education for the local Zanzibari who may not understand the importance of their actions.
